Color Gem Collection #3
The Color Gem Collection #3 by Studio Unto includes three of their color gems: Sulphur, Turquoise and Amethyst. These crayons are multicolor crayon cubes that allow you to draw directly from nature: as if you picked up a rock and started coloring.
Using the Color Gems is a process similar to rock erosion: every line you draw and every indentation you press into it slowly transforms the crayon cube, turning the natural process of erosion into an artistic footprint.
Each Studio Unto Color Gem is produced with natural materials such as burnt chalk, apple, stones and granite. The original cube shape invites the user to determine the “rock form” through the act of drawing; every sign of press, indent and dulled corner implies the artistic footprints.
All Color Gems are handmade in Unto's studio in Taipei, and therefore they all have slightly different colors and irregularities.
