The Wild Animals Calendar is a perpetual/birthday calendar featuring 12 animals, one for each month. The calendar is illustrated by Rop van Mierlo, who is known for his wet-on-wet painting style. The result is a series of amorphous and fuzzy shapes, yet these vibrant blobs are still easily recognizable as members of the animal kingdom.

Rop van Mierlo, known for his wet-on-wet painting style, created a series of animals inspired by the idea of how people try to tame the world in any way they can. While searching for a way to illustrate these animals, he started thinking: "if I would draw a wild animal, I'd be trying to capture it in lines, but that's just another way to control and tame it."
